Description
Beta-Alanine is most commonly used as an exercise performance agent mainly for exercise requiring power or strength such as sprinting and weight lifting. Beta-Alanine supplementation has been shown to help increase exercise performance, including prolonged stamina and peak power output.
It has been suggested that this may be due to the effect of Beta-Alanine on muscle carnosine levels in all fibre types. It is thought that the increased carnosine improves buffering of the muscle from pH changes due to lactic acid production thus reducing fatigue and increasing power.
