Who can use Durban Seamen’s Online Store?

Durban Seamen’s Online Store is exclusive to seafarers of the vessels calling Durban Harbour.

How does the service work?

Simply browse the website, select your preferred products and amazing offers, add them to your shopping cart. If you are not registered with the website, then request for a quote. You will receive a quotation and you can then confirm your selected products. Tell us the date of your vessel’s arrival and select the most convenient delivery time. One of our sales associate will be expecting your vessel to process your order and make the delivery.

Can I cancel my order?

Yes, you can cancel your order. Simply login to your account and change the status of your order any time before your vessel’s arrival. There is no mandatory transaction. If you decide to proceed with the purchase, the transaction is only concluded once the delivery has been made to your vessel.

Do I need to register?

You do not need to register to browse our website and consult our product information. However, you will need to register in order to place a pre-order. Duty free shopping is only available for seamen. Due to the duty free regulation, it is mandatory that we get your vessel information.

Why are my vessels voyage details necessary?

We need to know when you will be arriving /departing so that we can manage your order accordingly by making sure your goods are ready and available for you to purchase.

How far in advance can I make a reservation?

You can place your pre-order no earlier than 30 days and no later than 24 hrs prior to your preferred delivery time to your vessel at Durban Harbour.

Can I modify my reservation?

No, you cannot modify your reservation. However, you can cancel your order and place a new one in order to modify your reservation, or simply send us an email and we will modify the reservation.

Where can I track my reservations?

You can follow up your orders by accessing your online personal account or by sending us an email.

How can I be sure that I placed my order correctly?

Once you have placed your order, you will receive a confirmation email on your vessel’s email address. If you do not receive a confirmation email, please contact our customer service.

What do I do if I have forgotten my password?

You can ask for your password to be sent again by accessing your personal account settings.

How can I change my personal and vessel details?

You can change your personal data information by accessing your personal account settings.

Are my personal details secured?

When do I have to pay?

The payment is due upon delivery to your vessel.

Which payment methods are accepted?

All standard payment methods are accepted.

Do I pay any additional taxes on the prices visible on the website?

No extra fees shall be applied to online prices.

Can prices change between the moment I place an order and the day goods are delivered to my vessel?

Yes, prices are susceptible to change depending on local exchange rate. However, we will inform you if we cannot keep the listed or given price.

Who will deliver my goods?

Your pre-ordered goods will be packed and delivered by Representatives of Express Ship Chandlers – company who owns and operates Durban Seamen’s Online Store. All details are available on our website.

Can I modify my order upon delivery?

You are welcome to add or remove any goods from your basket before proceeding with the payment.

What happens if my vessel is omitted Durban call and I cannot get my order?

Nothing, as specified in this FAQ – the pre-ordering is not a binding transaction. We will simply cancel your order without any additional fees or consequences.

Can someone else collect the order on my behalf?

Your goods will be left with the Captain of your vessel, as we also have to sign and stamp delivery documents with the Captain in order to comply with South African customs regulations. In this case, you will need to make an arrangement with your Captain to settle the payment on your behalf.
